Gomez and Sullivan is a water resources engineering and environmental science firm specializing in surface, groundwater, and wetland resources with particular emphasis on watershed assessments, hydropower, dams and flood control.  Gomez and Sullivan has offices in Weare, NH,  Utica, NY and Williamsville, NY.  The company provides a wide range of services including: permitting and licensing, watershed studies, ecological investigations, environmental impact statements, engineering design, CAD/GIS/GPS, and facilitation of collaborative planning processes.

Company Profile

Gomez and Sullivan staff has been involved in FERC licensing and compliance projects for the past 17 years. Our technical staff has acquired a high level of credibility with all parties (licensing agencies, other governmental bodies, and non-governmental organizations) in scoping and conducting scientifically-based studies for FERC licensing. We have been successful as individuals and as a group due to the broad range of capabilities we bring to a project and our ability to understand both environmental and engineering/operations concerns. This broad understanding allows us to develop and evaluate operations plans that address environmental needs while minimizing the impact on hydropower operations, thereby making the best sustainable use of the resource. We have experience with the full range of licensing processes (Traditional, Applicant Prepared EA, and Third Party EIS) as well as various consultation methods.

The senior staff of Gomez and Sullivan has a strong background in managing and performing a broad range of environmental and engineering studies associated with relicensing. Our staff has especially strong credentials in operations modeling, instream flow analysis (IFIM), habitat time series analysis, aquatic biology, fish passage planning and design, water quality monitoring and modeling, wetlands, and geology, as well as the hydroelectric engineering disciplines (civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, hydrologic, hydraulic, and geotechnical). We have had great success in the past with communicating the results of our work in both a written and oral form to clients, regulators, special interest groups, and the public. Our ability to listen to input from all parties in a FERC relicensing proceeding and then clearly focus and address the issues is one of our strongest attributes.
