Capabilities

Gomez and Sullivan offers a variety of GIS analysis and GPS mapping services to complement engineering and natural resource investigations.  GIS database development and analysis have been a key component of many watershed planning and environmental studies. GPS based surveys are used to delineate important aquatic habitat, wetlands, and terrestrial habitat features.

GIS Development and Analysis
Gomez and Sullivan has developed watershed-scale GIS databases for use in natural resource evaluation and planning studies.  This experience includes completion of server watershed-scale hydrologic studies, in which GIS databases were developed to analyze the impacts of water withdrawals, discharges, and movement.  Gomez and Sullivan has used GIS complete spatial analysis applications, such as land use trends and distribution for the purpose of correlating land use change to modifications in the timing and magnitude of watershed runoff.  The GIS has also been used in conjunction with high resolution aerial photography to delineate aquatic habitats in several rivers and impoundments.

GPS Surveys and Mapping
Gomez and Sullivan has extensive experience in GPS based surveys and mapping.  This experience includes detailed mapping of both riverine and lacustrine habitats, as well as wetland and vegetative delineations.  We have also utilized GPS and other related survey techniques to complete intensive topographic mapping and bathymetric mapping of reservoirs and impoundments to characterize the aerial extent of drawdown zones.
