Solutions that Work for People and the Environment
Gomez and Sullivan's technical staff has acquired
a high level of credibility with all parties (licensing agencies, other
governmental bodies, and non-governmental organizations) in scoping and
conducting scientifically-based studies for FERC licensing. We have
been successful as individuals and as a group due to the broad range of
capabilities we bring to a project and our ability to understand
environmental and engineering / operations concerns.
Gomez and Sullivan has provided
in-kind
services for a variety of projects that support environmental stewardship.
- Engineering
-
Gomez and Sullivan employs registered environmental, civil and
mechanical engineers specializing in water resource projects including dam
safety, hydrology and hydraulics, dam removal, watershed modeling, flood
control design and GIS.
- Environmental Sciences
-
Gomez and Sullivan's scientists and biologists focus
on: instream flow studies, watershed assessments, water level management studies, habitat evaluation,
wetland assessments, water quality monitoring, fish population surveys, impact
assessment, entrainment studies, fish passage efficiency and design, telemetry
studies, and habitat improvement plans.
- FERC Licensing &
Facilitation
-
During the past two decades, Gomez and Sullivan staff
have handled over 100 license and permit applications for activities regulated
under state, federal, and local statutes involving FERC licensing. We have
conducted NEPA analyses, Applicant Prepared EA's and Third Party EIS's.
- Restoration/Dam
Removal
-
Gomez and Sullivan
provides civil, structural and hydraulic engineering services related
to the evaluation and design of dam construction and removal projects,
as well as environmental impact analysis and regulatory permitting
services. Dam removal services have been provided to restore stream
habitat and function and as part of dam rehabilitation projects.
- GIS
-
Gomez and Sullivan offers a variety of
GIS analysis and GPS mapping services to complement engineering and
natural resource investigations. GIS database development and
analysis have been a key component of many watershed planning and
environmental studies. GPS based surveys are used to delineate important
aquatic habitat, wetlands, and terrestrial habitat features.
