Gomez and Sullivan Employees Hit the Streets for the 35th Running Boilermaker

On July 8, 2012, the 35th Boilermaker brought more than 14,000 runners and more than 5,200 volunteers to Utica’s streets. Among these individuals were eight Gomez and Sullivan employees.

Damian Gomez, Ryan Troy, and Katelyn Zatwarnicki participated in the main 15K (9.3 mi) race, which spans from ECR International in East Utica to the F.X. Matt Brewing Company in West Utica. Chelsea Bush and Erin Redding ran the 5K (3.1 mi) race, which covers the last third of the 15K course. Kevin Miller participated as a volunteer just before the 6-mile mark, while Pam and Jerry Gomez cheered the runners on from the sidelines.

The annual race also holds a 15K wheelchair race, a kid’s run, and a 3-mile walk (cancelled this year).

Following the race, runners, volunteers, family, and friends gathered at the post-race party at the Brewery, one of the Boilermaker’s founding and biggest sponsors.
