Merrimack River Hydroelectric Project

Gomez and Sullivan provided water quality monitoring and analysis in support of the project’s FERC relicensing effort. The project consists of three hydroelectric facilities along the Merrimack River in central New Hampshire, from the Garvins Falls Dam in Bow to the Amoskeag Dam in Manchester. Temperature and dissolved oxygen levels were monitored continuously for six months, and water quality samples were collected monthly for an entire year. Additionally, two separate diurnal surveys were conducted in each impoundment during low flow and high water temperature conditions to document diurnal changes in dissolved oxygen concentrations.
